With a mixed feeling of excitement and fear, I started my journey from Bengaluru to Kolkata! Everything around me was making my heart to palpitate faster. I felt this journey is definitely one of my daring moves!

1st June 2020 - I wore a red T-shirt with blue denim, one of my favorite combo! I was ready with my weapons - N95 masks, Hand Sanitizer, and hand gloves, to seize the day!

The Beginning :

My cab arrived exactly on time. Before leaving, I looked at my room and waved bye with a giant smile. D-Day is here, today I'm gonna see my mom and dad - This is what I felt before I set off. Finally, the journey started! I made one cute checklist to stay conscious at each moment! Everything was going smooth but then... oh crap! Heavy rain started. The sky was becoming dark when we made our way into the highways. The highway was wet, the weather was stormy and Mr. wiper was too lazy to work. From that moment, my adventure began! I kept calm and asked Mr. Rohan (Driver) to drive slowly and cautiously. He drove well and at last, we came near Kempegowda Airport! My cab adventure didn't end there; When I was about to pay, google pay didn't work! To my surprise, the driver actually said -

" Madam, boarding ho jane ke baad de dena"! :)

Finally, I reached Bengaluru Airport!

But... surrounding was so unusual!

The Unseen :

Standing at the beginning of the entrance gate, I noticed few things! What I saw, was not only unusual but also alarming. My view was something like this - People with masks, few adults appeared in full PPE uniforms, no goodbye hugs from family, and no smile on anyone's face. The selfie spot became a temperature checking spot.

After talking to my parents, I stepped ahead. Two new procedures were introduced for safety concerns - Aarogya Setu status showing and Temperature checking. At each step, the most important fact was to maintain social distancing. I showed my boarding pass and proceeded ahead! :)

A step closer to home :

I finally entered the airport! At that time, I felt a little confident as I had collected information about the procedures happening inside ( from my personal source :D ). I changed my gloves, wore new ones, and sanitized my hands, probably for the 3rd time! I already printed my boarding pass a day before, so I went straight to the security check-up! I showed my boarding pass to confirm my details, put my laptop bag in sanitized trays ( I actually covered my laptop with transparent plastic wrap, as I really didn't want my laptop to touch the surface of those trays! ), and followed the regular procedure. Cool then! Everything is done...that's what I thought but then I realized I was feeling quite peckish!

I imagined all my favorite dishes I would eat once I'm home...! ( This is what I do: Can't eat food? No problem! Imagine them :p ) I went straight to the boarding gate and collected all the essentials - Face Shield and Sanitizer kit. I wore a face shield comfortably until I started feeling angry. ( Just a little though ). Wearing spectacle along with a face shield was a real struggle! The shield became a little hazy, making my vision blurred! Although I took a selfie, I decided not to post it! :D I had a video call with my mom and dad. They said - " Looking perfect now for your homecoming mission! " I heard the boarding announcement and proceeded ahead. I felt my mind was filled more with a burst of happiness than with nervousness!

Boarding started and I got into the airport bus. I stood at the end in the queue to maintain distance. When I was entering the flight, I saw the seat, next to mine, was empty! I felt happy ( Extra safety :P ) I sat, texted my parents, and started to watch a film, which I had downloaded already( Ocean's Eight). I already saw it before, but still, I feel it's kind of sexy. The flight landed at 9.30 p.m.

Kolkata - Heart wants what it wants

I saw my dad standing at gate no. 3B. The moment was stupendous. Dad was sparkling with happiness. After a long wait, I came home! There was one more thing I noticed but that was not important! ( Temperature was quite hot :D ) We got into our car. Mom called and she said - "Your favorite chicken afghani biryani is waiting for ya! " Then, my grandparents and uncle called and asked about my airport journey. Mom sent a vanilla smoothie which she had made for me, to drink while returning. I was telling dad how many times I changed gloves, how I managed not to buy KFC burgers at the airport, and those cute funny things, then I realized - Oh Shit! What about the uber payment? Then I transferred him the money, called him and thanked him. I was feeling very happy and relaxed. I was waiting for the time when I would go home, take shower and then finally hug my mom dad tightly! I reached home around 11 p.m. The smile I saw on mom's face, made my day! :)
